| Dear friends, I’m devastated to miss the WAB’s gala celebration of 50 years — 50 years investing in the arts infrastructure in every part of our state, strengthening opportunities for artists of all description, building the capacity for creation and innovation of individuals and communities. When I took on the role of chair and met George and his team, it was akin to discovering gold. Together we had the great fun of using the full extent of the Office of the Lt. Governor to ramp up the Arts Board’s impact in every sector and region of the state, to bridge people and organizations and corporations until there was a new power grid lighting up the state. My 10 years at the helm were the greatest privilege of my time in office. To all of you who laid the groundwork for that, who worked with us, who carry on now, thank you for directly making Wisconsin a better state for us all. Take a deep bow!!
