What energizes you as you consider the future of the arts in Wisconsin?

As a transplant to Wisconsin, I’m still discovering this state and excited to continue exploring everything it has to offer. The artistic community here has been overwhelmingly welcoming, and I knew immediately I had found a fabulous place to continue growing my creative practice. While Wisconsin is currently ranked at the bottom in per capita public funding for the arts, the push to change this is heartfelt and inspiring to see. So many fellow Wisconsinites recognize the importance of increasing investment in the arts for themselves, their communities, and our state.

Where can we find your work?

Katie’s work can been seen at the Dubuque Museum of Art until February 11, 2024, at the Overture Center for the Arts from June 16 to August 25, 2024, at Clear Lake Center for the Arts from September 17 to October 12, 2024, and always on her website and Instagram.
